We installed two large retractable fabric shade awnings on our home about 13 years ago – we love them and they have worked flawlessly. Some time during those years I called the owner, Kelly, because our awnings were not opening – he walked me through where to replace the battery that operates the wind detector – easy fix, thank you. Now 13 years later, we had an operational issue (user error/our fault) and called Kelly on a Friday evening after 5pm. We were in a bit of a panic because our awning was open and high winds were coming through and we didn’t know what to do – I was envisioning our blinds flipping backwards like an umbrella in high wind. Kelly asked if he could call back via Facetime so that he could look at our awnings/situation – he assessed it, told us what to do and fixed our minor emergency within a few minutes. He then followed up the next day (on a Saturday) asking us if he could drop off two extra frame parts for our two systems that would improve the stability of our awnings because he felt that we could use an upgrade to our system since they had improved that stability point since we had purchased ours so long ago. He did not charge us or accept gifts (I asked him if his address was current and he immediately said he didn’t want anything) – he just wanted us to be happy customers. He thought that our awnings should last for another 10-15 years! We were so impressed with his customer service and loyalty to his customers and his product. It took many visits to our home, a lot of professional persistence on the part of Kelly EauClaire, and a lot of time and money, but the company stayed with the problem and fixed it perfectly. A few weeks ago, I inquired to Pacific Home & Patio regarding an install of a large privacy screen for my backyard patio. My patio opening is 20’W and I wasn’t sure what to expect from the quote. I scheduled the appointment and Michael Kowal came out to my house on time as scheduled, (big PLUS!) and we began talking about what I needed, what I wanted. After some discussion, I was able to choose the fabric density and color (I chose black and 95% for privacy), the rail colors, the mechanism type (I chose the manual one versus the electric one) and about how long the lead time would be from the manufacturer to get here. I gave him my deposit and waited. About 4.5 weeks later, I got the call that I was ready to be installed. The install team, including the owner of the company, came to my house on time, showed up ready to work, they were clean (and cleaned up after themselves, another BIG PLUS!) and I had my new patio screen installed beautifully. I love that I can see out, but no one is able to see in unless I am backlit from inside the house (by then it is night time and I simply draw the inside shade down). I am super excited to see how this does this summer by giving me an outdoor space that I couldn’t use before because it was so hot. As an added bonus for those who choose manual, I found some small clips to actually take the wand off the screen and secure it where it will not break, chip or swing in the wind. I’ve given the owner the details on how to get these inexpensive clips and if you choose to use, you will always know where the wand crank is. Thank you Pacific Home & Patio, I love my new screen.

This company is amazing. Michael came out to help me design an awning for my patio. He helped guide me towards the right size and fabric to make a truly cozy little (actually large ) gathering area for the dining area around my pool. We’ve been able to entertain quite a bit and we’re not worried about the weather at all because the awning is keeping us shaded and dry. This was an amazing addition to my patio.
